Section 198
Special arrangements regarding choice of family for minors with special care needs

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this paragraph, the Board may adopt a minor in need of special care, giving priority to the applicant for adoption, and give preference to the family. A minor shall mean a minor requiring special care due to physical or mental or abnormal or abnormal development or advanced age.
(2) Whether or not a minor is a minor in need of special care shall be determined by the Board.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1) in accordance with that sub-section, when choosing a family and a minor in need of special care, as requested by the family in the first priority order, if any information regarding the age, gender and health of the child does not match, the special information that matches the information requested by such family Minors in need of care can be selected on a case-by-case basis.
(4) Other procedures related to the selection of families for minors in need of special care and the classification of such minors shall be as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
